You can equip your hero with four different modifiers to assist you on missions: Skill Cards, Fate Cards, Trinkets, and Meals. Each one provides unique benefits to help you overcome the challenges ahead. Learn more about them below!
Skill Cards
Each hero has their own unique set of Skill Cards. Skill Cards allow you to attack, move around the play area by walking or jumping, set up buffs or debuffs, and more. You receive these cards by leveling up your hero.
When on a mission, turn order is determined by who uses their Skill Card first. You may want to strategize with your fellow party members to decide what the order should be. Each round resets the turn order.
Once you have selected a card, the individual action options on that card can be played out. This includes moving your hero, attacking, or using magic if your hero is magic-based. Some actions will affect an area around the hero, and some jumps will push the enemy or other player heroes back. You can skip any part of, or all of your action, if you choose.
Fate Cards
In addition to Skill Cards, there are three different types of Fate Cards you earn and use: Positive, Neutral, and Negative. You can change out Fate Cards in your hero's Fate Cards submenu. Fate Cards range from giving you a plus or minus to your attacks, gaining moves, area of effect, and so much more. The combinations are endless! You earn these cards by leveling up, or you can purchase one from the Oracle after each mission. You can also increase the amount of Fate Cards that can be taken into a mission when you level up.
Once a player has used their Skill Card and has chosen the enemy for their attack action, a Fate Card will need to be drawn as well. The Fate card will be randomly selected from the cards you have allotted to be part of your Fate Cards rotation. It will appear on the host’s screen, and the benefit or detractor will automatically apply.
Both Skill and Fate Cards can be equipped/changed at any point while you are in town.
- Click the cards icon in the lower right corner of your mobile device screen to access these options.
- On the next screen, you will find an option for Skill Cards and another for Fate Cards.
Trinkets
Trinkets are another item that can come in clutch while in battle. Each hero has a trinket slot, and you have access to multiple trinkets once you hit a certain level. Trinkets can be purchased from the Market, crafted at the Workshop, dropped from enemies, or received as mission rewards. You can also upgrade or sell Trinkets at the Market. Some Trinkets are used to unlock or upgrade your town, so be sure you want to sell before letting them go!
Trinkets will provide you with a variety of effects such as inflicting a debuff, healing, buffing an item or party member, creating gold, and so much more.
Make sure to equip your Trinket before heading out on your next mission. You can do that by selecting your hero icon, then your inventory icon. Select the Trinket you would like to use, and equip it!
Meals
Meals are available at the Tavern for purchase. Different meals unlock as you level the Tavern up, and the available meals are randomized after each mission.
Like Trinkets, Meals provide you with a variety of effects. Meals are automatically applied once they are purchased, and the effects wear off once you complete your mission. Make sure to head to the Tavern to purchase a Meal before each mission. A hearty Meal makes for good fortune!
